The family settled at <strong>19 Berkeley Road<\/strong>, beside the Mater Hospital, where they lived from the mid\u20111920s until <strong>1953<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Berkeley Road was a middle\u2011class, professional neighbourhood\u2014home to civil servants, teachers, architects, and skilled tradesmen.
